Inductive Load Bank Solves Generator Overcompensation

The Problem:

A large Generator at an industrial site required the capacitive load in the low voltage system to be attenuated to an acceptable level in order to avoid over-compensation and ensure efficient and reliable operation of Generator.

The Solution:

Capacitor Technologies was engaged to provide a technical and cost-effective solution. After careful analysis of the system, CapTech designed and manufactured a fully-functional 3-Phase 415Vac 60kVAr (4x15kVAr) Inductive Load Bank. When the generator is operating, the inductive load bank will negate the capacitive loading of the system to adequate level, and hence ensuring that the harmful effect of capacitive currents was avoided.
