Improving Industrial Processes in Nissan’s
Melbourne Manufacturing Plant

Nissan Australia was experiencing severe 3rd harmonic problems at their manufacturing plant in Dandenong. The high content of 3rd harmonic currents were a result of a large number of lights, battery chargers, conveyors and single-phase loads installed on site and were causing malfuntion of office equipment as well as overheating neutral conductors.

What we did

Captech conducted a harmonic investigation and careful system analysis, then designed and manufactured an intelligent multi-stepped passive harmonic filter to specifically reduce the predominant 3rd harmonic as well as other higher-order harmonics.
